PROPOSAL ON IMPROVING OUR COMPANY'S WEBSITE

    MAY 2007

    A. The strengths and weaknesses of the current website can be summarized as follows.

      1. Strengths

    • As this website has been established for years that our company became much more well-known than before throughout the same industry on the internet.
    • Our company has gained more profit from the orders overseas, thanks to the current website.
    • We got more feedbacks from end users through the forums on the website, which could let us find out the problems more easily and make immediate improvements.

      2. Weaknesses

    • The pace of updating is slow, especially the specifications and prices of our products are out-of-date occasionally.
    • Not international enough yet. There is only English, which will surely limit our potential clients worldwide.
    • Ways of paying are limited.
    • It's d difficult for customers to accurately figure out where they want to go exactly and what they want to see definitely in a few seconds, due to the disordered information at the homepage.

    B. There are several recommended new services and information to be provided through the website below.

    • Speed up the pace of updating so as to keep more buyers on concerning our products in detail. It will not only good for increasing the click rates directly, but also help to increasing the profit in some ways.
    • More webpages of the same contents in different languages should be set up as soon as possible. In order to attract more customers from Asia and Southern America, or even Africa, webpages in Chinese, Japanese, French and Spanish must be established at least.
    • Widen the ways of paying is now a trend for websites to be user-friendly. Not every buyer knows how to pay or enjoys paying totally online, as electronic banking is not so popular yet in some developing countries and online safety still needs to be ensured. Therefore, pay by air mail or telphone should be considered.
    • Redesign the sitemaps and slightly change the arrangement of the homepage so that visiters can have clear guidance while scanning. Inner search engine is also welcome by many visiters, which is a shortcut for accurate finding.

    C. The benefits the improvements would bring can be listed below.

    • Our website will surely draw more attention all around the world in order that our target market could be widened and orders overseas would be more sufficient.
    • It should be a good chance to unite some new information with the old ones and different departments may have well communications with each other.
    • Various ways of paying will help to establish business relationships with different banks and companies in different sections.

    Incentive Scheme

    Individual Incentive Schemes

    • Individual schemes can lead to a rather narrow focus; the affected staff members will tend to maximise their own output with the aim of increasing their income. Such self-interested behaviour may negatively affect the common goals of the organisation, thereby reducing the overall performance of the group or unit.
    • The focus on individual income (maximisation) may reduce staff members' intrinsic motivation. That is, once money takes over as the main motivator, other values may be reduced-to the detriment of the organisation.
    • It's often difficult to distinguish properly between individual and group performance. This difficulty can be compounded by problems with measuring performance. In such cases the incentive scheme may turn into a "black box".
    • There is some evidence that merit pay (in which the best performers receive a pay raise) is often linked to staff members' position within the organisational hierarchy. Those on the higher levels may receive bigger salary increases simply because of their position and not necessarily because they have contributed more to the overall company or unit results. The credibility of such systems is at risk since the affected staff members perceive them as unfair.

    Group Incentive Schemes

    • As opposed to individual incentive schemes, group incentive schemes look at the output of the whole group in order to determine staff rewards. The main benefit of such schemes is to foster teamwork and cohesiveness within the group or unit.
    • The biggest danger of group incentive schemes is a phenomenon called "free-rider" behaviour. If the group is large enough, it becomes very difficult for the group members to monitor each other and to ensure that everyone gives his/her best effort. This creates opportunities for some of the members to shirk their responsibilities; they reduce their individual efforts without getting punished. If the other group members anticipate such behaviour, there may be a noticeable decline in the group's output-clearly not a desirable outcome for the organisation. So the main task for those who operate group incentive schemes is to control and prevent free-rider behaviour.

    What Is Life?(life in metaphor)

Life is a path leading to nowhere.

    Life is a dream.

    Life is a journey.

Life is a series of unexpected and expected experiences.

Life is what you make of it.

Life is a journey whose destination is unknown.

Life is a treasure and the proof of that is that few people want to die.

    My skin-deep understanding of life???

    Life is a football game.

When you achieve a goal, you will feel extremely happy.

When both team can not get a goal, you will feel boring.

When you lose a goal, you will feel extremely sad.

When the audiences are all looking at you, you will feel that you are under pressure.

I think life is just like this, full of happy, boring, sad and pressure.

    Say Something about yourself?!

When talking about myself, it seems I can say many things, but maybe I can't say any single word. This is me who is ambivalent. However, I enjoy this kind of feeling in my daily life, because I can experience totally different life styles.

Once when I feel that I'm full of energy or very happy and excited, I would never stop myself expressing happiness and excitement. At that moment, I love to share this wonderful feeling with lots of my friends, hanging out with them, playing soccer, badminton, snooker or some other sports together with them, even talking with them through telphone, SMS or internet all day and all night long.

Once when I feel boring or upset, I would try to calm down myself so as not to affect the others around me. I found that singsing songs is really a good way to get rid of bad mood, though I don't want to say any single word to the others at that very moment. Of course, rock music is not my choice, I prefer blue songs which could make me cry because I think I would become better after I were extremely sad.

Something more interesting about me is that  I'm pretty different in different people's eyes. Someone say I'm so man while the others think I'm the same sa woman. In my opinion, it depends on different situations. When I'm together with groups of boys and men, I would become a really true man. When I'm together with same girls and women, maybe I would become a little bit girlish from time to time.

I don't know what I have written above whether can fully describe myself or not, so I really appreciate how the others think of me.
